Prepare for some tears...

Saw this video this morning and had to post it...what a great video for correcting our perspective on life.

Notre Dame Football

The Notre Dame season has started off well. We are 2-0. I am ushering again this season at Notre Dame Stadium. The first game was not as exciting as the Michigan game - the Michigan game may have been the most fun game I have been a part of as an usher. It was pouring down rain and we were stomping the Wolverines! Looking forward to watching the game with Natalie and Elias. This will be our toughest game so far - it would be great if we can pull it off.

Da Bears

After a less than assuring Notre Dame win on Saturday (there may be a post on the disappointing Irish in the next few weeks if things do not improve), it was great to watch Chicago play so well last night in their huge win over the Colts! They ran the ball great and their defense dominated - classic Bears football.

If they can continue to play like that, they may provide some unexpected fun and excitement for the Wards this fall. We'll see what happens. GO BEARS!

Da Boys watching Da Bears

So it feels like Fall which has it's cons like the fact that Winter is soon to follow. But there are also pros like NFL Football games with our family and snuggling! Life is so great with our little guy Elias, this is going to be a great year.

Prepping for the N.D. game!

Our family (with the new addition of Elias) continued the tradition of watching "Rudy" in prep for tomorrows first N.D. game this season. Tyler will head off to South Bend to usher while Elias and I watch the game with Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Jordan, Uncle Joel and Aunt Coco (elias is very excited to hang out and wear his ND outfit). Go ND!!

McCain

So I know this is a really shallow response to McCain's speech, because it shouldn't just be about being charismatic, but McCain will not become president based on his speech giving abilities alone. It was interesting to hear him share his heart with some of his personal experiences from the past - beyond that I was not that engaged or intrigued. The "Best Speech" award definitely goes to Palin.

Palin for President??

Could we run the primaries again and nominate Palin for president? I haven't read about all of her political positions or views, but I like her authenticity and realness. What a great V.P. pick for the Republicans.

And the award for worst customer service goes to...

HOBBY LOBBY! Is it me or are the women who work at Hobby Lobby always the most impatient and annoyed? I hate to even ask for help because they always seem like they would rather be scrapbooking or knitting than helping a clueless guy like me find what he is looking for. It defeats the purpose of playing Christian music in the store when the employees act like the complete opposite. Not a bad lesson to learn.

Somebody remind me...

Somebody remind me why having a daughter who is pregnant makes someone unfit to be vice president. The media is enough to make my head explode!

Who Would You Nominate?

So I was thinking about some of the comments that people left for my Obama post...it gave me the idea to open things up and ask - Who would you nominate for president if you could nominate anyone? Leave a comment and let us know. If you can, share a reason why. We already have nominations from previous comments for Don Grubaugh and Mary Todd. Who would you nominate?
